This photograph was probably taken in the 1880s. It is about 40 cm across. I have partially digitally restored it.
This shows the church before the restoration completed in 1896. Note the box pews and oil lamps. The pulpit is on the Norman Chancel arch pillar. During the restoration the pulpit was moved to the North (left) and the Peacock memorial seen alongside was moved to the North aisle. Behind it was found the doorway at the top of the rood screen steps.
In this photograph taken before the Victorian restoration completed in 1896, the pulpit is attached to the Norman Chancel arch. During the restoration the pulpit was moved to the left. To enable this, the Peacock monument was moved to the North aisle. Behind it was discovered the doorway to the rood screen.
The Chancel as seen from the Nave during the 1890s restoration. Note the large panels on either side of the East window.

The following photographs belonging to Tim Mason, were taken by his family, probably in the early 1950s. Many thanks for the permission to use them here.
